A sad state when this is probably true.
I respect Eklund and like coming to this site but it's frustrating that nobody is allowed to question him or state facts of our own about what he posts or who he is. He's kidding himself if he thinks nobody knows who he is. These days it is impossible to run a website like this and remain anonymous. A quick google search will give his identity and even show youtube videos of the real Eklund in interviews. We just all have to play along with the anonymity things or else we get banned.

why anyone with a brain in their head would take Ek seriously ahead of Spector is still beyond me. Why legitimate rumor people have such tolerance for Ek also amazes me, considering most of them probably despise him

It's pretty much an open secret at this point. Hell, even Adrian Dater didn't really dispute it when he wrote his stupid sympathetic profile of Ek.

The excuse that he needs to protect his identity to protect his sources is such a laughable lie.

It almost makes me feel bad for Eklund. I'm certain he must know that everybody knows who he is at this point, yet he pretends and acts like he's some anonymous insider. Judging by what most real insiders say about him I would say there isn't a lot of respect for him among the actual journalists and insiders out there.

To be fair, Spector doesn't actually break any rumors himself, he just aggregates rumors and speculation from legitimate reporters across the league and comments on them (personally I think sometimes he should post less speculation because many reporters are (frank)ing idiots with no connections). Which still makes him many, many times more useful than Eklund.

Every so often, someone like Dreger loses patience and just completely shuts him down publicly on Twitter and it's glorious. Personally I think most of the actual connected reporters hate him because he just makes their job harder when they have to go and shut down the odd Ek rumor that slips into the pipeline.
